2022 Touriga Nacional

100% Touriga Nacional from the Bassham Family Organic and Biodynamic vineyard in Barmera, South Australia.

Dense & Savoury, with a black fruit profile of bramble, mulberry & cassis with violet, fragrant cubeb pepper & herbaceous fennel. Full bodied with supple tannins of complex cedar oak, but supported by excellent acidity.
ALC. 13% - Closure: Screw Cap - Vegan Friendly

Hand picked fruit is left mostly whole-bunch, with some foot trodding to loosen up some juice for wild fermentation from the yeasts in the vineyard and winery. The ferment is punched down by hand, once in the morning, and once at night. After 14 days the must was basket pressed to 500L Puncheon barrels (10% new oak) for 10 months of maturation, before being married into tank by gravity. Bottled, sealed, and labelled on site by the loving hands of family. Minimal sulphur was added at bottling.
